How to replace LCD Screen on HP Zbook 14U G5
Tools
For the replacing process we will need the following tools: a plastic pick, a screwdriver
a set of adhesive strips
Shut down the laptop
To begin turn the laptop off and disconnect the power cord
Remove the bezel
Start removing the bezel. The bezel is held in place by tabs. Pull the inner side of the bezel
away from the screen unsnapping the tabs underneath. Go along the perimeter. Using plastic
pick release the bezel from the hinge cover. Place the bezel aside
Disconnect the screen
The LCD screen is held in place with screws in four corners. Using Phillips screwdriver
remove the screws. Place the screen on the keyboard. Using plastic pick and fingers peel
off the tape securing the video connector. Using plastic pick open the connector's bracket.
Disconnect the video cable. Remove the screen and place it on the desk
Transfer metal plates with brackets
We need to transfer two metal plates with brackets onto the new screen. Using plastic pick
separate the plates. Normally we would use adhesive strips to glue the plates onto the
new screen. We offer standard double-sided tape for such repairs on our site:
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/section/tools/ But in our case the glue is still
working. Place the plates onto the sides of the screen and apply some pressure
Connect the new screen
Place the new screen onto the keyboard. Reconnect the video connector. Close the
connector's bracket. Secure it with a clear tape. Lift the screen up. As we can see the screen
s working! Turn the laptop off. Replace 4 Phillips screws
Replace the bezel
Start replacing the bezel. Make sure that bezel is going behind the hinge cover. Press firmly
to snap the tabs back in place and go around the perimeter. Close the laptop and make sure
that the bezel is properly snapped along the bottom of the screen.
Turn the laptop on, and we are done!
